in my media class we watched another controversial documentary, the documentary was based on a young man named Jonny Kennedy, he was a 37 year old man who suffered with the Empidermolysis Bullosa, which a rare type of skin cancer. the documentary filmed the last few final months of his life. equally both documentaries ' the boy whose skin fell off ' and ' the bridge ' were both very hard hitting documentaries. however, from a media point of view believe there was more emotion towards the documentary about the life of Jonny Kennedy to be much harder to sit and watch. this is because from the audience perspective, the documentary just focused on the one person and there life. this then why this documentary was far more emotional than the bridge is because you build a relationship with the character Jonny Kennedy in that you are watching him slowly passing and you build a stronger connection as you know the character more. however this is then where the documentary can be controversial, because some people will think tat it is morally wrong to film someone on there last few final months to then seeing them sadly passed away in a chair. However this rare condition is an issue that needs to be addressed and make people more aware.
moreover, at the time that Jonny Kennedy was born, the abortion of epidermolysis bullosa was not yet invented, throughout the documentary the Kennedy family discover that there is now an abortion for EB, this then raised some more issues into wether is was right to abort with the condition. however after watching this documentary, i believe this this may tend to sway some people.
here is the ending documentary to ' the boy whose skin fell off '
