Overshadowed

in my media lesson we looked at the BBC mini TV series 'overshadowed' we study how this TV series is a unique and modern way of filming, here is a the introduction to my essay on 'overshadowed'.

The mini TV series focuses on the issue of anorexia and how it impacts the life of schoolgirl Imogen. Imogen is a student who vlogs her daily life, and viewers start to become aware of her issue with battling anorexia. This series is a modern way of representing youth culture. This is because vlogging has become a massive impact into the youth culture and it is a personal way of interacting with their audience. It is also unique in that way that they address the issue of anorexia and personify the illness as a person called Anna. Anna is constantly looking over Imogen’s shoulder making her obsessed with her self-image. This is a key part to the TV series as it shows it shows key characteristics of young girls wanting to change their identity.
