Location/setting

When deciding what locations to choose for our production, we had a rough idea to what we wanted to include, to enable the best outcome for our production. we therefore started with a color scheme to what colors we thought of wen listening to our chosen song. We then had an outcome of mostly warm autumnal colors such as reds, yellows and oranges. However we then also thought that the song was very powerful, therefore we then decided to interpret black and white into the production. We also thought that the black and white color scheme would fit perfectly with out dancing scenes in the production. this is because, the movement an expression of dance is very powerful and gets the message across, therefore we thought that by having a black and white background will enhance the emotion of the dancer and the production. therefore we thought that a studio with a black background and bright spotlight would be most effective as it shows power but it also shows isolation.

furthermore, we decided to use the warm colors because although the song is about loss, it is mostly about the memories of the loved one that the singer/songwriter has lost. therefore we wanted to have the effect of the warm color scheme to enhance the ideas of happy memories.we thought that the perfect locations for this color palette would be at a train station and the woods just a little bit before sunset, so that we have the warm colors and also the shadows to help create the idea of loss and that there is something missing in the protagonists life.
